Refund & Cancellation Policy
The Speakeasy Tutoring
Effective Date: June 12, 2026
This Refund & Cancellation Policy applies to services purchased from The Speakeasy Tutoring, including private tutoring, online tutoring, in-person tutoring, group classes, pronunciation programs, workshops, and other educational services.
By purchasing a service, registering for a class, or making a payment, you agree to this policy.
1. Private Tutoring Sessions
Private tutoring sessions must be canceled or rescheduled at least 12 hours in advance.
Sessions canceled with at least 12 hours’ notice may be rescheduled based on availability.
Sessions canceled with less than 12 hours’ notice may be charged in full.
No-shows may be charged in full.
Completed tutoring sessions are non-refundable.
2. Late Arrival
If a student arrives late to a scheduled session, the session will still end at the originally scheduled time unless otherwise agreed.
Missed time due to late arrival is not automatically refunded or extended.
In the case of an uncommunicated late arrival, the teacher will wait in the classroom for 15 minutes. At this time, the teacher will leave
the classroom, and the session may be charged.
3. Group Classes
Group class payments reserve a seat in the class.
Missed group classes are not automatically refunded, credited, or made up individually.
If a student misses a group class, The Speakeasy Tutoring may provide materials or homework when available, but individual makeup sessions are not guaranteed.
4. Programs and Courses
For multi-week programs, including pronunciation programs or special courses, payment reserves a spot in the program.
Once the program begins, refunds may not be available unless otherwise stated in writing.
Missed program sessions are not automatically refunded or made up individually.
5. Workshops and Special Events
Workshop and special event payments may be non-refundable unless otherwise stated.
If a student cannot attend, they should contact The Speakeasy Tutoring as soon as possible. A credit or transfer may be offered at the discretion of The Speakeasy Tutoring, but it is not guaranteed.
6. Package Payments
If a student purchases a package of private tutoring sessions, the package must be used within the time period stated at purchase, if applicable.
Unused sessions may not be refunded after the package period ends.
Package sessions are for the purchasing student only and may not be transferred unless approved in writing.
7. Payment Plans
Some programs may offer payment plans.
Students are responsible for completing all payments by the stated due dates.
Failure to complete payment may result in paused access, canceled enrollment, or removal from the program.
Payments already made toward a program may be non-refundable once the program has begun.
8. Cancellations by The Speakeasy Tutoring
The Speakeasy Tutoring may cancel or reschedule a session, class, program, or workshop due to:
Illness
Emergency
Weather
Low enrollment
Scheduling conflict
Safety concerns
Technical problems
Other business needs
If The Speakeasy Tutoring cancels a paid service, we may offer a rescheduled date, account credit, or refund when appropriate.
9. Low Enrollment
Group classes, workshops, and programs may require a minimum number of students.
If a class or program is canceled due to low enrollment, students who already paid may be offered a refund, credit, transfer, or alternate option.
10. Refund Requests
Refund requests must be submitted by email.
Please include:
Your name
The service purchased
Date of purchase
Reason for the refund request
Refunds are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and are not guaranteed unless required by law or clearly stated in writing.
11. Processing Time
Approved refunds may take several business days to appear, depending on the payment processor, bank, or credit card company.
Payment processing fees may be non-refundable depending on the payment provider.
12. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes
If you have a concern about a charge, payment, refund, or service, please contact The Speakeasy Tutoring first so we can try to resolve the issue.
Filing a chargeback or payment dispute without contacting us may result in paused or canceled services while the matter is reviewed.
